Shenandoah Valley - Goshen Pass

Description: A great combination of open and shaded roads with stunning views and one major climb, this ride takes you through the Shenandoah Valley south and west of Greenville, VA. The route is the same as the southern section of the Tour de Valley ride held yearly on Labor Day weekend. The far end includes a 4 mile out-and-back along the Maury River Valley up the gentle grade of Goshen Pass. On the way back is the 3 mile, moderately steep climb up Raphine Hill before returning to Greenville. Take plenty of supplies; there are no stores along the route, although water is available at the Bethesda Presbyterian Church at mile 36 (ask at the office).
